Discovery 1 brake rotors vented?

Am I correct in thinking the factory Disco 1 brake rotors have no vents?
In which case, are the RRC front rotors a straight swap? is this worth doing if they are being replaced anyway?
Are the calipers also the same?

thanks for any help.

Yes Disco 1 rotors are solid. I used Disco 1 rotors/calipers on my 90 as they are identical (or close enough) to the ROW rotors/calipers originally on my 90. I think NAS 90's had vented rotors and the associated calipers.

Notice the spacer connecting both sides of the caliper (off-colour bit on each end) in the vented, and a lack of one in non-vented. Same core design, but wider caliper for the vented rotors. Not interchangeable as far as I know.

Aren't the RR calipers twin line? Or did they do away with that at some point? Can't remember for sure.

I'm looking at one online now, has two lines going into it.. but it looks as though the Disco ones also do. In any case, it looks from what you're saying that the disc and the caliper need to be swapped over together to make it all fit - that's helpful, thanks :)

Are you asking if going to vented is an upgrade? You will get a longer time before they fade, so if you drive in such a way that makes them fade, it will help.

If you want better braking, you can probably use calipers with larger pistons. Measure the diameter of your current pistons. If they are 41 mm, you can get calipers with 46 mm pistons, used in all 110s and laters 90s. This gives you around 25% more stopping for the same pedal pressure.
