Barn find.

I cleared away the weeds and there she was. When I started driving the 90 in the Fall of 2011 (time goes quickly doesn't it?) I simply parked my Series IIA 109. About a year later I started it up to pull a boat out of the field then parked her by the barn.

The gasoline in her is over three years old BUT treated with that fancy gasoline preserver, it still smells pretty fresh. I put a battery in, cranked it a while to no avail. Pulled the fuel hose off the carb, pumped the fuel pump with the finger lever 'til gasoline came out, splashed a bit of that in the carb. Put the hose back on the fuel bowl and pumped a bit more. When I hit the key the old dear fire up instantly. After a minute she started running really poorly, then I remembered to shut off the choke. She purred! Took her for a drive around the yard, exercised the suspension, warmed her up and am still trying to remember what switches do what. Tires were a bit low but still holding air. Hasn't run for a couple years but I think I'll be putting her back on the road soon.

Not bad for having only run once in over three years. Spent some time with a compressed air hose blowing needles, cobwebs and leaves off of her and out of the engine bay. Maybe I should wash her too before I try to license her. What do you think?

Oh! I almost forgot. I started the motorcycle today too. She was harder to start than the 109 but had been running as recently as December. LOL
