I think I've decided on Good Year Duratrac's.
265 / 65/ 16 on my stock wheels. Can I go wider?
Would anyone recommend "C" or "E"?
Or any other TIRE Suggestions?
Chris

They are a bit wide for the 5.5" rims and you have to watch out for rubbing on the rear spring perches. If you have the 6.5" rims they should work well.
As to what tires are the best it depends a lot on your use and everyone will have a different opinion.

"E". they are 10 ply RATING, not 10 plies. They will give you a tougher tire, last longer and possibly fewer flats vs a 6 ply "C" rated tire.
Edited to correct error. 10 ply/ not 8. Thx Red. Must have been reading with my eyes crossed.

I run 235/85R16 BFG Mud Terrains on my Defender 130 and I am happy with them. These tires are a couple of inches taller and about 1.5 inches narrower than the size you are looking at. They have been good for me, no rubbing on turns or articulation, handle heavy loads nicely and seem to do well both on and off road. There's lots of opinions and good information on tires out there so I am sure you will get more traction (sorry... couldn't resist) on this thread!
Cheers, Rob

They are not stock then. It is best first to figure out what rims you have then to ensure there won't be clearance problems.

I assume kweese meant 265/75R16, which is the same diameter as the 235/85R16, just 30 mm wider. It is a nice size, you just need to make sure you have the correct offset rims. On a 110, the rear springs are an inch larger in diameter and you need to be careful with the tires hitting. You won't find out until off road and articulated. It is not a nice time to slice the sidewalls.
I'm been running the 265/75R16 C rated Duratracs since 2012 on my 90. I like them. They have good traction on all surfaces. Being in Calgary, I wanted something I could run all year around and they are winter rated. I tore one sidewall off road (my fault), no flats otherwise. The E rating probably makes more sense on the heavier 110. The downside to "E" tires is they can be stiff, so do not conform as well off road.

"E" is 10 (tread) ply rating - 80 psi
"D" is 8 ply - 65 psi
"C" is 6 ply - 50 psi.
