New Website

At 4 PM today we launched the new website. If you come directly to the forum you may not have seen it yet. Visit www.roverlanders.bc.ca to take a look. (Also some people's browsers are set to cache info rather than display changes, so you may have to refresh your browser a couple of times to see the site)

There are a few things still under construction, but for the most part it should be working. Please post any bugs here and we'll get them fixed as soon as possible.

cheers, Dave

Looks very nice.

Unfortunately, the forum is no longer iPad compatible. I surfed around last night, and only the beginning of forum threads would load.

I'm still finding that forum threads do not fully load (i.e. you to not get to the bottom of the page with the REPLY etc buttons) when using a laptop. Whole responses can be missing.

It is the same on Safari and Chrome on a Mac, so I suspect the problem is for any browser on any OS.

If you enter the forum from the Roverlanders website, unless you scroll to the bottom of the page and click on 'To view the forum as a stand-alone page click here.', you only get the first one or two posts on a thread, depending on how long they are.

On the post about the Land Rover cafe chair for example, you get one and a half posts, the thread 'stopping' half way down the photo in the second post.

EDIT: Just checked on IE and Chrome on a Windows 8.1 laptop and the problem is the same.

So the problem is with the integration/embedment of the forum in the website...

The forum as a stand-alone page works as it should.

Seems to be fixed now? I am now seeing the complete page.
Anyone still having issues?

Working now.

I guess Dave found the problem!

Looks good. Great to see the newsletters posted, just a couple of holes there. Somebody must have issue 1 and 5, come on jar loose :bounce:

Thanks for sticking with the thankless task of dealing with the website Dave and thanks to Justin for stepping up at the AGM to take the reigns from Dave.

I think I might have some of those missing issues. Will check when I am home in two weeks.

The website has info for signing up for new membership in the "Membership" section. However, I was not able to locate any info for membership renewal. I would like to suggest that membership renewal instructions to added to the page, e.g., the PayPal email address to send the renewal payment. It would be more convenient instead of sending out a check payment.

New Membership and renewal membership are one and the same. We'll work on the wording a bit...

I finally took a moment to watch all the photo's that scroll through on the front page of the site and read the associated captions. Very well done!
