Anyone try the cheap "tuner chips"

Anyone try the cheap "tuner chips" that are on EBay for the 4.0 ?
I dont think I would go that route. Those cheap usually just trick the computer into thinking it is running cold or something along those lines.
On a Chevy 5.3 do what every you want... on the Land Rover 4.0 or 4.6 I think the risk is not worth what ever gain you may get.
I read changing the cam is the best bang for your buck... but dont know anyone who has done that yet either.
