Hi Dixono
I have no clue what engine you have but if it is a standard 1979 2.25 petrol 4 cylinder rover engine you should be using 20w-50, thats okay for Victoria all year round. Synthetic is okay but totally over kill. Lordco or Napa will be able to get you the old style cartridge filters for the same price or less than any of the land rovers parts dealers, it is a very common filter in both the long thin version or the short thicker style. You could have either. Hold a plastic bag under the filter when you take the bolt out to catch what oil is in the filter canister.
You could also have the rocky mountain modern style spin on filter.
Good luck Victor 1962 Dormobile

Just go to canadian tire and buy regular Castrol 20w50. If you get it on sale it's $16 for 5L these engines don't need anything fancy plus most of the oil will leak out or burn off so you'll want cheap oil to replace it with!
The Short filter is 4 5/8" and the long filter version is 6 13/16" most likley you have the short version but just measure your oil filter housing.
engine oil filters part numbers and other alternate part numbers can be found here:
