I have been researching the various Defender camper conversions available on the market today. I really love the Ex-Tech but always felt it was missing some... Je ne sais pas...
I ran across this new camper from Germany and it just may be the "one"...

http://www.matzker.de/Expeditionsfahrze ... ::233.html there is a You-Tube video on them putting it through the paces on the Land Rover Experience site in Germany and it is very impressive. The weight of the complete rig is very close to what a normal Defender Station Wagon weighs which is a huge selling point for me.
Here is the link to the You Tube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-KKR4VjSgo#t=327
Here is another short video that shows the interior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h15BAO72kdM
I would appreciate any serious comments any Roverlanders may have on it.

Re: Another Great Defender Camper Conversion from Germany
Hi Stuart
That looks like an interesting rig. Seems to handle some off-roading well enough. I like the look of the unit, it looks like it belongs on the rover. Not much inside space though and I don’t see a water closet. I wonder how the interconnected body (camper box attached to the cab) would handle the flexing of extended off-roading. I’ve been looking at ideas for a rig to go on the back of my 130 pick-up such as an Alaskan pop-up but they are quite heavy. The rig you have found is inspiring some ideas and the added length of the 130 might make room for a WC. I wonder if the company you found offers a 130 version?
Here’s an alternative a little closer to home (not a rover but still has some cool factor) and is a lot fewer Pesos http://www.usednanaimo.com/classified-a ... r_23434793
Cheers, Rob
