Low water alarm for 2.8Tdi

Anyone know what device might be placed in the top of a 300/2.8Tdi water fill cap to alarm if an air pocket develops? Want to road my 110 for easier sale but don't want to run the risk of overheating the head.

Found a reference to using a Range Rover coolant tank cap and a u-built circuit box for a 300td, might suit your needs. The link to the article is
