Blowdown Pass in the Stein Valley - Saturday 12th July

Hi All,

A few of us are heading out on a spontaneous run up to Blowdown Pass which is perched at 6700ft up in the Stein Valley. This is a beautiful mountain area near Duffey Lake which is about 3 hours north of Vancouver.

Meeting at Tim's in Squamish (Progress Way) at 9am Saturday morning, probably won't be back in Squamish until 7pm (ish).
The off road section is medium, with a few rocky sections and possible light pin striping from the spring time new bush growth. Once at the top you will be treated to a panoramic amazing mountain view with the option of hiking another 1000ft if you feel keen!
It's going to be hot, bring sunscreen, bug spray, folding chairs, lunch, water, snacks and a sense of adventure!
Let us know if you are coming along.....
(note- there is more than one Tim Hortons in Squamish, we will be meeting at this one - 38930 Progress Way;

Cheers,
Andy

Looks really cool. I am negotiating with Erica to see if we can join! ;-) (The day might be too long for the little ones.)

Good to see a few people joining us ... see you all at Squamish Timmies at 9am, departing 9.30am sharp.

There is always a possibility of us finding some pockets of snow up there, this picture was taken July 2010

Wow. That last photo looks like a mid90s Land Rover brochure. See you at Tims.

Enjoy the heat - we were in Whistler on Tue & Wed and it was hot enough then.

I will have to stick to Abbotsford tomorrow and endure the heat. Reached 36 today according to the shade thermometer and worse coming...

Once on top of the Pass we were spoilt by perfect conditions, it was warm and sunny but with a refreshing cool breeze and pockets of snow here and there. It was the ideal lunch spot and hard to leave (I would of liked to stayed and camp for a week) but alas we had to head down .... next time (sigh)!
Great bunch of Rover-Landers to share the day with, thanks for coming out ... see you on the next one,
