Norrish Creek MVI

A horrible thing to happen in our hobby but I guess we are all open to the risks. We are, after all, involved in a motor sport with certain risks. Two young men were killed in an incident this past weekend when they drove over a 500 foot embankment apparently at the 4 km mark. Is this one of the roads we've been along on a Snowflake Chase? I've been up that way at least three times on different events but I'm not sure if Norrish Creek FS road has been one of the roads I've been on. Is anyone familiar with the spot? Does it narrow down to an obstacle or would this have just been driver inattention / speed / tire blow-out?

The news and parents report that it was speed and driver inexperience.
Apparently he fishtailed and over corrected in the turn and went off the embankment.

I have been up Norrish Creek FSR many times. It is a popular spot for young adults to head for an overnighter or bush party. The drop is quite steep and there are many sharp corners. The road isn't all that long, but is much tighter than FSR roads like Harrison West. It is likely the washboard which is almost always present on that road contributed to a loss of control.
