June 7th and 8th - 12th Annual Cowichan Rally in the Valley Land Rover weekend

Come on out to the Sutfins Farm, located 4 miles north of Duncan just off the Island highway and close to amenities. Rover-Landers are welcome to camp out in the fields on Friday and Saturday nights. There will be two Island runs, one on Saturday (scenic, possible scratch) and possibly another one (if there's interest) on Sunday (off-road, likely scratchy).
This is the 12th LR Rally in the Valley, don't miss it, hoping to see a good turn out for 2014.
Family friendly, great social event, Camp fire on Saturday night (bring your marshmellow!).
Even if you don't want to go on the runs, come on out for Saturday afternoon and evening, kick some tyres, mingle and talk Land Rovers ...

Mark it on your calendar, Hope to see you there,

Cheers,
Andy

This looks like a blast. I don't think my family is up to an all day Rover Ramble, but I forwarded it to a friend with a Series 2a in Parksville. I'll try to make part of it.

Any objections to me coming along in my Toyota FJ Cruiser? The 2A is not going to be ready for this year's event I'm afraid!

Fine by me. Did you read the warnings in the link?

GD- we arrive back at the farm between 5 and 6 for supper, campfire and socializing. All good family functions. We have a "Land Rover" themed cake every year too.

P.S. by "socializing" I do not mean getting pie-eyed drunk. I mean having nice family and Land Rover oriented conversations. Guests are however welcome to bring a few beer, some wine or spirits if you wish. Please don't over indulge and no driving while drinking or under the influence.

Thx.

Yeah there's no roof rack on this one and its white so the odd "pinstripe" doesn't bother me...

Hi Greg/Andy,
David V.in his lightweight and me in my 90 are planning on coming over as long as it's not pouring down. We plan on taking the first ferry on Saturday morning.

Hi Bill.

Looking forward to seeing the two of you. I hope it is the Tsawwassen to Duke Point route you are planning on. Catching the scheduled 0515 will get you here on time, by about 0800. Taking the route to Swartz Bay with the earliest departure time of 0700 won't see you to the farm till 1000 at the very earliest and we should be well on our way on the drive by then. Duke Point (Nanaimo) is about 45 minutes by road from our place, Swartz Bay is almost 90 minutes.

Looking like sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine. I'm hoping, complete with crossed fingers, that they don't close the woods before the weekend. Fire season kind of closes down any off-roading around here in the summer time. One year the woods got closed Monday morning after the drives.

Ha, thanks Bill ... caught posing like a Bronze God!

Mind you old boy, I would say looking more like "our boy Monty" (Bernard Montgomery) rather than that blasted Rommel ..... Rule Britania and God save the Queen!
