When I swapped a diesel into my '60 SII 88 I rewired the whole truck myself. The job turned out really well but it was a huge amount of work and as I did not have "access" to supplies other than retail the cost was quite substantial as well. My advise would be that if the vehicle is stock,ie. you are not wiring in all sorts of custom stuff, and that your situation is similar to mine in that you will have to pay retail for the supplies, that you source a pre-made harness from one of the UK suppliers and save youself time and $$$.

I have installed a few of the pre-made harnesses from autosparks in the UK. Great value, great product. Way better than rewiring yourself, all the right wire colours and connectors, pretty much plug-and-play.

I would suggest for any custom stuff that you do the harness anyways and run your accesories and custom wiring separately.

The harnesses I got were between $600 and $900, depending on what type of vehicle you have.

i talked to Alan At ROVERWORKS. last summer and he had some one who could make a wire harness. he asks questions like what alternator etc you use. and it is made for around $400.00 seems to me. I would suggest you contact him. all the best. rick.m
