RRC Alternator

So when I first got my RRC, I had pulled off the alternator and saw that one of the eyelets for the brackets had cracked, and broken. So I sent it off to Brighouse Electric in Burnaby, and they replaced the housing. I also had them replace the bearings and brushes while they were in there. That was about a year ago. Today I took off the alternator to gain access to my power steering, and I noticed that the same eyelet that had broken last time, had started to develop a hairline crack. Naturally I'm going to have to get it replaced, but I was wondering if anybody else has had this happen to their RR, and if I'm going to have the same problem again?

Are you sure everything is mounted correctly? Maybe a picture of the install would be good.

I can't be of any assistance because my alternator is not the factory one.

Previous owner put one in there from a Massey Ferguson tractor.. kinda strange.. I saw that the part was made in Slovenia and I had to Google to make sure Slovenia was even a real country anymore.

I can however tell you that the mounting points on mine are good.
I should probably take it off and have another look at my power steering seeing as it just leaks all the fluid out and doesn't f***ing work
Taking one of these off road without power steering is just nightmare on the joints in your arms, it's no joke.

When I looked at replacing the stock LR Alt, I was really shock to see how much they were! I replaced mine with a V8 Camero one for about $100. The wiring was pretty straight forward and had to change the pulley over to the LR one and made the top tensioner a bit longer. Really simple. Just google it as I think I got most of the wiring info off the net somewhere.
