Ecu compatibility

My Classic is giving me all types of issues, and I think it may be down to the ecu. Does anybody know if I can swap in the ecu from a '95 discovery?
Heres what I found. Your best bet is to match the part number up with the unit you are replacing.
Land rover Discovery/ Range Rover V8 Engine Computer / ECU. Part number-- 80506 A / AMR-3729 / 14cux .
