Does anyone know of local suppliers for series one brake parts? I am scouting out shoes, wheel cylinders, lines, flex hoses and maybe a master cylinder.

Cheers, Rob

I bought a bunch of brake parts from Peter at 3 Brothers Classic Rovers in Ontario.

Here's a link: http://216.147.97.195/3bcr/index.html

He ships very quickly, has reasonable prices, and should have everything you are after.

The highly recommend getting the full brake line kit. Made life a lot easier.

Unless its an early series one, the brake parts are the same as series 2 and 3, with the exception of the master cylinder.

Thanks for the info

It's an early 53 80inch truck, the components at the wheels do look similar to series 2/2A but it has been awhile since I've dealt with series 1 brakes so I figured I'd ask for a refresher.

Mine is a '56 86". The series 2/2a brakes are all the same except the master cylinder. Yours should be the same as well. I used a series 2 master cylinder and made a simple plate that I welded to the outrigger. There are professional made adapters to do the same thing, but in my opinion they are very overpriced.

There should be series one rebuild kits available for the master cylinder, but actual series one master cylinders are very hard to come by.
