Is anybody interested in doing an off road drive this Saturday? Or maybe next week? Its supposed to be nice this weekend and I want to take the truck out but I don't know where to go. We'll leave in the morning and I've got a portable barbeque for making some lunch. Anybody interested? Or able to point me in the right direction? I would hate to be driving somewhere I'm not supposed to.

Jeremy,

I've moved from Duncan to Sidney (just couldn't take the commute after six years), and I'd usually be up for a drive but I'm saving my gas money for Greg's Cowichan LR event. I also have to change the throttle body heater plate as soon as I pick up a kit from LR Vic.

Seems I'm in the middle of a gearbox exchange, hope to have the job finished by Sunday night. So I'm out for now. Make sure you come up to the Rally on June 11/12. The "scratch and dent" run is Saturday this year with the car show Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday.

I've just started the commute from Duncan to Sidney. What's the best route from Highway 1 to 17? Interurban Road doesn't seem to be the answer. I don't like sitting in the "crawl" till I get to MacKenzie.

Greg,

Unfortunately going down to Mackenzie is the fastest route, and I've tried them all. At night Mackenzie is crazy, so I took West Saanich to Interruban and Wilkinson/Helmken, but it wasn't lovely either. Commuting to Sidney from the north truly sucks as there's no direct route.

My condolences,

Boat! Boat is the quickest and fastest way to Sidney from Duncan. Oops. Are we steeling a thread? I cut over half an hour each way by taking the boat.
