99-02 Discovery - Swap in 03-04 Headlights?!

The lighting on the Series II Discovery's leaves a lot to be desired. Just wondering if the 2003/4 head lighting can be swapped in with ease?
Would one have the swap the entire front end? Rad support, grill, & lights? Or just the lights?

There was a bit of discussion about this on the LRE Forum:

Doesn't appear to be as easy as it looks.
There are a pair of these on ebay right now for fairly cheap if you're interested in experimenting:
Ebay headlights for sale. Click on this sellers other items for the link to the left headlight.
It is worth doing a search in the Discovery section of the LRE forum for related topics, as well.
One last thing, someone mentioned to me that the grey shield with two legs that is just inside the bulb socket can be removed without changing the light's pattern and it really increases the amount of light. Haven't tried this cuz my Disco II lights are more than adequate compared to the lights on my previous vehicle, a Mazda MX6.

Looks like a wee bit of work/technical knowledge required on the upgrade.

I won't bid on the ebay headlights if you're going to... we don't want a bidding war between each other, but the price looks pretty good still, $78 US the last time I looked.
If you're not going to bid on them, I might give it a go.

I got outbid... the lights sold for about $335USD + $40USD shipping... a bit over my present budget, considering all of the modifications needed to make the lights fit the 99-02 Series II.

Time to resurrect this thread...
Ended up buying some 03/04 Disco II lights off eBay recently.
I haven't installed them yet. I wanted to re-ask a couple questions though:
1) Has anyone on here done the upgrade?
2) Does anyone know of any good DIY guides? or should I just buy the DIY handbook that somone created and sells on eBay for $49USD?
