:fart: The 110 Land Rover has finally gone. And to a good home I may add. Young fellow in Burnaby will get a lot more use out of it than I did. So it's gone, however I'm not out of the Land Rover family. I inherited a 1958 Series 2 88". AKA Mr Churchill . Not bad shape and has a vintage tag on it. 2.25 diesel, and we all know what that means, yep, 0 to 45 miles an hour in about 15 minutes. I can't explain this but it really puts a grin on my face. I guess its the thing that I'll be slowing traffic down a bit where ever I go. That should piss a few people off. And I can do it legally with a vintage plate. 8)
See you around the island

Sad for you and glad for you. What a wonderful 110 the guy bought. I'm looking forward to seeing you out in the 88.
My great uncle gave me a ride out highway 7 many years ago. He would have been well up in his 80's and drove a late 40's Dodge sedan. He barely stuck up above the steering wheel and he kept looking in his rear view mirror, more than to the road ahead. He was really driving slow, a lot like you will be in the diesel 88. I finally asked him why he was looking behind him so much. He chuckled and said "I'm trying to see how many cars I can get backed-up behind me."

Hi Derik Congradulations on selling your very nice rover. Hopefully the new owner will join the Rover Landers and we will still see it on some trips.
Your new bride (swmbo) will love your new 88 model rover. Especially after having to ride on the back of your motorized trail bike for the last couple of years.
Just think a dry interior, (Ha Ha,) a heater (Ha ha,) and no more vibration.
Looking forward to seeing your new ride, maybe at the Victoria Sanicton Acres British swap meet in the middle of April. I think that is probably the next event on the Island for 2011. Last year had a good showing of rovers and a nice swap meet to boot.
Talk with you later Victor

Thanks Victor. The missus doesn't mind the new 88 however I need to do something for hearing conservation. Mr Churchill is very loud. I've had him out and about over the last 2 days and I have a never ending smile. For me this was a good deal. I really never did get off the island much with the 110. It was my intention to do more off road stuff with the club. However with my other disease with motorbikes it never happened. The young fellow who purchased it from me is very enthusiastic about travelling with it. So he is going to use it much more than I did. And Mr Churchill will lead a pampered life here on Paradise Island.

Cheers

Hi Derik Glad your enjoying it. I cant wait to get the dormobile out again, they bring a real smile to your face as your motoring along.
The Sanichton British car show is Sunday April 17th 2011 from 10:00 to 3:00. Same spot at Heratage Acres on the way out to the ferries. I will post something up on here as a reminder before then.
Maybe we can get a coffee meet going in Victoria before then.
