I have a 96 disco with mashed axle -truck has ABS (not working/disconected). I have an axle from a 95 disco in good shape but comes from a truck with out ABS.
Are these axles interchangable?
my fsm doesn't help me & i have yet to crawl under the truck & do a visual.......so wondering if anyone can lend some of their past experience.
thx

Should work. What is wrong with the current axle?

previous owner lost brakes- clipers shot, should have noticed leaking fluid on on 3 of 4 rims, it was the first thing i noticed when i looked at the truck. Ended up on top of a small boulder at bottom of steep driveway -axle housing ripped open. thinking about tearing it apart & welding it up.......we'll see what the gears look like when i open it up.

I know that truck. It has a lot of history if you dig a bit. Its been to Africa, and spent a great deal of time in North Vancouver with an off-road training school.
I'm pretty sure Red90 is correct. Another axles should fit.
If you can't find one locally, Don at Rovertech has several out of various trucks...

The casings will change over, the ABS stuff is on the CV joints and in the outer knucle.
