Hi guys,

Anyone know about or been on "The Bitch trail"?
I believe it is on Mt.Sicker near Duncan.(but could be wrong).

I just dug out an old VHS video "Ultimate Adventures 2001" and the group ran this trail. looked like fun.

Any info appreciated....

Yup! That's my area of the woods. Where's the video from? Is it something to do with the Peterson's Four Wheeler magazine trip through the area in summer 01 and the article in the October '01 edition?

Some logging has gone on in the area in the last couple years but I think the "B" is still clear but it is a bit on the difficult side. Hamburger hill is a bit easier, Phil has been over HH with his Defender without too much difficulty. The "B" has some sections that are steeper but I've seen a couple Jeeps do it without winching. I never would have thought it was possible and wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it.

We were thinking of tackling it when we come over for the Rally in June!

It's most likely that "Adventure Challenge" that Peterson's Four Wheeler magazine does and my two boys and I were the only spectators other than members of the local club that were hosting them on these trails. This is just off a "shortcut" that I often take that goes from our place to a model airplane flight area. The night before we had seen a bunch (gaggle?) of trail rigs at a local hotel parking lot so just HAD to stop in and say hello. We managed to do some looking and question asking too. They told us about the Adventure Challenge and some of the famous trails they had been on. All the trails are secret till they go on them so none of the rig drivers or co-drivers knew were they would be. They had a few vague descriptions and I put 2 and 2 together and figured it had to be right in my back yard. Next day we were headed out to do some model flying and took the "shortcut". I left a bit early in case we found the trail rigs. Sure enough, they were right where I figured. We watched for a couple hours then headed out to do some flying. It was amazing to see where some of these rigs would go as well as how some of them would slide into stumps and trees and things. And I had the only Land Rover in the area. I don't think my Land Rover would go some of the places because of my carb. They all had fuel injection so can go almost vertical and still keep running. I couldn't even winch up one hill because of my PTO winch needing the engine to run.

This is right on the road I was thinking of doing for the Sunday scratch'n- dent drive so a short detour could include it. I recommend against the mud pit on the Hamburger hill trail due to the current depth. Trucks with lots of HP and 44 inch tires have made it impassable to lesser vehicles. There is an easy by-pass trail.

Peterson's 4wheeler highlighted that trail in their latest issue on the stand now. I have a copy and was reading through it and saw a picture of the bitch trail, it was on their bucket list of 20 must do trails in North America.

Hi Greg, yes it was a Petersen 4 wheel Ultimate Adventure 2001.
Must of been the same group you bumped into. Almost 10 years ago already...Yikes!

There's a good chance my kids or me are in the background of the video footage, but I don't recall a particular videographer.

The mag is "Petersen's Four Wheeler & Off-Road". It is one of the more popular ones around here (I thought.). They have an article about their "Bucket List" of trails to do. This trail has one little photo and less than a sentence about it, BUT it IS on the list.
