Hello. Who is the most honest local parts guy (new and used) in the BC/Okanagan area? Or do most people go with the dealership or from the US? I was dealing with a really nice fellow out of Madoc, but I got burned by this guy (I dont mind waiting for parts (I have a Jaguar V12 and a FIAT spider) but I sure cant stand someone BSing me). Thanks.

Well, I use D&M Auto Parts in Lumby as they have a half dozen Discoveries. They've been fair to me, and allowed us to wander their lot, but they don't have any P38 Rangies.

As far as new parts for the Discovery, I first check with Rovertech or Keith Robinson, and if either of them can't bring it in fairly fast, I contact Columbia Rovers in Washington. I've had good success with all 3.

I also keep up a good rapport with Otto at Land Rover Richmond. They have an interest in supporting the club, so it's still worth checking with them on price if you need it right now.

I've also been surprised with the occasional parts available from Lordco, especially for things like brakes, rotors, u-joints, waterpumps, but you have to be very careful as sometimes their prices are much higher than the dealer.

On any truck older than the Discovery, I often give Dixon at Rock-Island-Rovers, Alan Simpson or Aart Vanderstar a call.

cheers, Dave

Hi,

I'll plug my good friends at The Rover Shop in Calgary, Vern is a top guy and has many years experience on Landy's. Call for advice as he's normally stacked out with work on customer vehicles.
