Hi All,
As discussed at the meeting tonight a few of us are heading out on a local run in the Chilliwack area. We are planning to run through the Chipmunk Creek loop that spurs off the forest service road between Cultas Lake and Chilliwack Lake.
If the weather clears a little we should get great views down on the Lower mainland as we traverse the ridge.
Expect snow, we are hoping not too much! Dress warm, bring lunch.
Meeting at Tim Hortons at the Whatcom road exit of Highway #1 at 9.30am Sunday morning November 22nd. Possibly the last club run of the year 2009, come out and enjoy!
Cheers,
Andy

Oh yea there will be snow, lots of fresh stuff from yesterdays deluge. Looking up at the ridges right now. Should be spectacular if you get blue skies tomorrow.
If you have a small group 5ish you might want to have a go at a little muddy dead end trail at about N49 06.554 W121 45.588.
If you go right to the end (it is short less than a kilometre) and drop into the trees, you are likely to need a winch to get back out. 8)
There is another dead end trail that is fun and goes by a odd pit with a stair case (you’ll know what I mean when you see it).
Unfortunately I don’t have coordinates for it, but it is on lower part of the road up Thurston just near the top of the logged areas. The trail is on the left on a right hand hairpin turn.

Hi Paul,
We didn't see any snow at all until we reached the 2000ft range, then it was just a couple of inches. At 2500ft we were in about 1ft. By the time we turned West and headed up the hill towards the gravel pit it was over two feet deep
It did make for a wonderfull, winterland, Christmas card scenery, with all the trees full of snow and a light fluffy snow fall.
We bumped into the Herd of Turtles on the same run, 6 jeeps and 1 Toyota.
Lots of fun and fresh air, it all had to end when darkness fell and we thought better get out of here!
I will send some photos to Bill for the Gallery (sorry, not a big fan of FB)
Cheers,
Andy
