Hi All,
my very first post here. Soon I'm getting my first defender.
It will be a Defender 110 200tdi RHD. Anyone here done the RHD to LHD himself?
Any recommend shop in Vancouver? looking for something reasonable.
Parts will cost about $1K according to
http://www.dividingcreekroverimports.co ... conversion
how many hours will need?
cheers

Hi,
Check your costs, some of the parts like the steering box used in the conversion were sourced from auto wreckers, if you can't get a good used part then start adding the $$
Can't help with a shop in Van.... sorry.
Time wise, if you have all the parts available you could do the swap in a weekend. I've replaced a bulkhead in the past in this time.

I know Dixon at rock-island-rovers.com has done some of these. He may have the parts you need in stock as well. He's on Vancouver Island, but comes to the mainland fairly often.
cheers.

Yah, the prices listed there are pretty hopeful. I'd love to know where to get a good steering box for $20!!!! He did not list a swivel housing?? You would need one. Oh I see, he got an entire front axle for $80!!! I need this guy to do my shopping....

thanks all.
if there were $5000 difference between a LHD and RHD D110. Should I just go with the LHD? Any drawbacks for converting from RHD to LHD in terms of reliability?
