Cracked cast aluminum... looking for repair advice

Good day

Was helping my dad put new injectors into his diesel VW... I screwed-up and caused a crack on the outside edge of the cast aluminum head where the number injector threads in  . So far, the motor runs OK, good compression and no fluid leaks.

Short of trashing the head, is there an effective method of repairing the crack in the aluminum? Anything possible without pulling the head?

Sure makes me appreciate the durability of the components in a rover 2.25 after working on the diesel VW yesterday. Sorry for the off-rover post but I figured there are some of you out there with good knowledge of aluminum

Regards, Rob
