The Rover-Landers of BC

This should almost start with "Once upon a time..." but it is real. A friend once moved his family to Canada, complete with their 88, which of course was part of the family, they lived here for 20 years, give or take a bit. While here he changed the engine for a six cylinder from a Jag. Then they moved back to the other side of the Atlantic and took the 88 with them, 18 years ago. Now they are wanting to move back and bring the 88 with them again, with the Jag engine. The question is; what is going to happen when it goes through the vehicle inspection for entry to BC. Will it be allowed or be relegated to a trailer queen for use off-road only? What sort of cost is there for these vehicle inspections?

Now, do you suppose it will end with "And they lived happily ever after."

When I put the 110 into Canada no one was the least bit concerned about originality. The truck just had to have a VIN and a safety test.

If a jag engine isn't mentioned no one will ask. Rock soup or Duck soup could be the order of the day.

Don't know the costs off hand.

When I had the 110 inspected it cost $75 for the inspection and the mechanic checked all the saftey issues on the truck, frame,brakes,lights,windscreen,steering,door locks and hinges,...........

The truck had a V8 and I installed a new diesel when reinsuring the truck I had ICBC change the registration to the diesel, no problems.

Does he still have the old BC registration papers, maybe he can get new registration
