The Rover-Landers of BC

My girlfriend is going to be wrapping up her work in the Princeton area in about 2 weeks, and I am going up to meet her for a few days camping before we head back to the coast. We're interested in doing some driving & possibly a night or 2 of camping.

I have a basically stock Discovery with 31" tires, and she has a basically stock Sidekick with oversized all season tires. We'd either leave 1 car in Princeton and do a little excursion, or take both cars.

Can anyone suggest something good and fairly fun-yet capable of being driven by the above cars? I know the Whipsaw/Placer areas are right there, but last time I drove it it, it was the middle of the night, and I think our NWC guides deliberately steered us towards the hard parts!

Finally, is there anyone up in that area doing a trip at the beginning of July? Or want to, for that matter?

Hi Devin,
You could always check out the old Princeton to Summerland road, easy to find on the map. Camping at Osprey Lake is pretty nice if you travel nearly to the eastern end. The road is gravel two wheel drive but there are some interesting roads up in the surrounding hills. Further east along the road after chain lakes there is an old homestead worth exploring and nearby a road heading off to the north that runs up a narrow gulch with its own sort of micro climate, cooler with different flora and a nice retreat when it gets stinking hot!
