The Rover-Landers of BC

Hello everyone! I'll get the bad part out of the way quickly.... I have a... Wait for it.... Land Cruiser. This opener reminds me of some other meetings I have attended recently (LOL). Anyway, I have always admired the Land Rovers and the culture and enthusiasm that they engender and would like to learn more and participate in this group if that is OK . My LC is a 91 80 series with the 4.2 litre turbo diesel, factory electric lockers,winch, 5 inch lift on 33's and a console fridge that will keep 10 Kilkenny at that perfect temp. Also I would like to go 'wheeling if anyone is interested. Thanks!

Welcome to the site and enjoy. On rare occasions an event might be limited to Rovers only or club members only (liability issues) but for the most part you are more than welcome to participate as far as I know. We'll let one of the exec correct me if I am wrong. Maybe you'll even get hooked and find a Rover sharing the drive with your Cruiser.

Any man with a beer fridge is a friend of mine. Seriously though, as John says we like all enthusiasts of Land Rover and you are welcome to come along and meet the other crazys even if you don't own a Rover (yet).

I'd LOVE to have an 80, but, funds just aint letting it happen...

had a bj42 for ten years, then a bj45, now a bj70, and I'm turning a 109 into what a cruiser head might call a bj109/55... :lol:

all cruiser running gear and frame under a 109 body. hopefully I'll be able to drive the thing this summer instead of just swearing at it...

I understand the Toyota mechanicals/Rover body combo is a good option. I often thought taking my fav. Rover (110) and putting my old 60 series diesel drivetrain under it would be a good Idea but I sold the bits years ago. My 80 is a daily driver and it's a turn key thing dependability wise. Like a 6000 lb. Camry that gets 17 mpg! (ouch)
