Galore mine landrover

#1 Post by Colin » Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:56 am

Did a trip up to the Galore exploration site near the confluence of Stikine River and Iskut river. Back in the 60’s they barged in some equipment, bulldozed a road up the river and then to the top of the mountain. One of the vehicles was a Sers IIA 88. It is still there only 6990 miles on it, bodywork is beat up, but it’s complete. The only way in right now is by helo, so if you are willing to pay for a Bell 205 to sling it out to the Bob Quinn airfield I am sure they would give it to you!

Also spotted the remains of a Landrover in pictures taken for a proposal to reopen a limestone mine on Artiztabal Island just NW of Bella Bella
