Hey all. Does anyone have a map showing the Harrison West Forest Service Road (Harrison - Pemberton) or a link to a downloadable version? Have to go to Whistler on Sat and as much as I have the utmost faith in my Defender, may be tough driving across that rock slide :).

Hi Rob,
The most popular (and reliable) is the map book;
Item Number: 556208
Title: Southwest British Columbia
Publisher: Mussio Ventures
Discount Code: A
Price: 19.95CDN
Pick it up from most book stores and large gas stations.
http://www.mapconnection.com/mussioventures.html

These on-line maps are quite good for checking ahead;

If you want to take a lap top you can buy down-loadable maps of these areas and follow your progress as you go...

Mostly the route is easy gravel road, except for the top third of Harrison lake which has some steep rocky sections. No problem in your 110 and great views along the way. (make sure you have a good spare tyre).

good luck!

Thanks Andy. Any idea how long the drive takes?

Hi Rob
You should allow 6-8 hours of gravel road driving time - Allow 10 hours if you plan to stop and take in the vista's and snap a few photos.

Last time we did it we broke up the journey by camping out at Sloquet Hot Springs and had a free hot bath! (nice spot, worth the 1hr detour).

Always expect the unexpected ... its a remote area. Dont try and rush it.

cheers,
Andy

If you're heading up that way... stop by the hot springs for a nice dip ;)

... bought the Backroad book and its great. However, looks like my assignment has been cancelled so I will take that drive at a more relaxed pace another time. Thank you for the info. Have a nice weekend.
