I appreciate the importance of rustproofing..

saw an old rover, 1971 - frame was rusted to heck, even some big holes in parts.. I was like.. ouch..
saw an even older rover, 1966.. frame had been coated in some kind of rubbery greasy paint that was now hardened and falling off, however the frame was rock solid, rusty, but no holes and very nice overall, i was underneath banging it like a noob but was very impressed with the comparison.

so i would like to hear stories of current rover owners and what you all do to keep the rust away

diesel and dust works pretty well....or you can brew yourself up some waxoil. not sure if you can buy it here in canada...

but who'm I kidding. my DD is a Landcruiser. I deal with rust with a zipcut and a welder... :lol:

There is a great wax undercoater avail in 4 litre jug from GREGG industries , in port kells. under 30 dollars, , for spot spraying i love the spray bomb, called HONEY GOO, it drys to the same , as waxoil.

Diesel and ATF mixed in a sprayer. Soak the inside of the chassis once a year before the snow flies. Light spray on the underside every once in a while. Just don't get caught by DOF when going through a creek.

POR15 is the best choice for the outside of the frame. Do it once properly and it should last forever. On the inside, see the previous discussions.

thanks for the tips.. I've decided to make rustproofing my #1 goal before doing any kinds of mods or upgrades

GALVANIZE Galvanize everything that is steel (sandblast first)
