I know it's not a rover...but Scott and I couldn't resist taking a couple of shots for you all.

This is a much dented, painted and modified Dodge M37 3/4 ton truck with winch. They were first producted in 1950 as the replacement for the Dodge WC series of truck from WWII. Canada purchased many of these with an up rated drive train. In Canada they carried a 98hp flathead six with a fully synchro 4 speed transmission... as well as a hard top. There were heater modifications but they were rather rare. The transfer case was a seperate box connected by small propellar shafts. As an off road truck, there was probably no better truck ever made. Low grunt where needed and almost totally indestructable. Top highway speed was about 55mph .. and you couldn't hear yourself think. Canada purchased the last of these in about 1956 while the U.S. Marines ordered a production run that lasted until the early 60s. After that there were a few model types that were made for export only including the civilian version called the Power Wagon B1.

Many owners put a diesel, overdrive and some sound proofing into them and then have the best of the best. Bizzilions of parts still available.

My truck, an M152, is a Canadian modified ambulance (M43) used for command and radio operations. Only about 1100 of these were made for Canada but none for the U.S. Picture of my truck can be seen at
