Whipsaw creek is near Princeton. We will be entering the trail near Coalmont and emerging at the Whipsaw switchback on the Hope Princeton Hwy. Leaving Friday

Whipsaw was bloody cold. We came in from the Coalmont side on Friday and camped in the clouds (literally) at Lodestone Lake. The clouds lifted enough on Sat morning to get a view from the to of Lodestone mountain. Point of interest-major coal mining underway just above Blakeburn, road signposted as private even on the FSR, needless to say we drove along anyway sticking to the main track which now skirts around to the left and beyond the diggings. Test holes are also being drilled within 50 yards of Lodestone Peak, so much for sensitive wilderness! How come there is no-one up there hugging trees? The rest of the whipsaw run is pretty much business as usual, alpine meadows being destroyed left and right, long weekend yahoos in abundance. the hill above Falcon hill is significantly rougher than in previous years. Copper Creek canyon was a nice opportunity to warm up at the end of Saturday.
