Let's face it people, the North American car companies can't seem to get it right no matter what they try. The only success they have had recently is resurrecting old muscle car names and reselling them...innovations...I don't think so.

I think that if people can get past their prejudices, and "if" in fact Tata does in fact take control of Jag and LR, that you would be presently surprised. This fellow is obviously no dummy (given his success to date), and as I understand it most of his senior people in this venture would come out of the European/North American management pool anyway.

Let's face it...the world is going truly Global. And to boot, some of the brightest people I know and work with are East Indian, highly educated and extremely successful in any venture they put their heads to.

My two cents...

I read that article the other day ... its all good as long as they add to Landrover in a positive way and don't pull a "GM" and build a Landrover equal to the H2 then ditch the original.

Given the history of the LR, I would suspect that we would see a model line similar to the late series, early defenders, due to the fact that the majority of India could definitely utilize a basic, affordable 4x4.

Just my "wishful" thoughts.
