A used compete HD third member 4 pin diff would be a good option if the whole diff is toast. There would be minimal install cost or you could do it yourself, complete third member replacement is a relatively easy job as long as the main axle housing is not damaged.

That sucks, have you contacted any of the shops listed in the "Supporters" section of our site?
Not because they are supporters but because they all have a vast amount of experience with your current mechanical woes and may have recourses you haven't yet thought of.
There seems to be a fair amount of 3rd members available state side, you would want to drop ship to a boarder town save the brokerage fee’s, however that may not be all that practical since you are on the island.
Let us know what happens if you would, it will be valuable info for the next one of us in need of a 3rd member.

Hi Steve, Paul is quite right, call some of the guys on the supporters list. Dixon may have something kicking around his yard at Rock Island Rovers on Thetis. Andrew's advice is also good, step up to a four pinion if you can.

Call around as people say. You should be able to get a used 3rd for $200-300 or a 4 pinion 3rd for around $500. They are easy to install yourself.
If you off road at all, I'd upgrade. The stock 2 pinion units tend to break the cross pin fairly regularly.
What's on third?

Steve,
Steve Knapp at Vic trans (Gov St.) is familiar with your truck and also knows how to get parts accross the border quickly and without undue fuss. Steve has also dealt with Ashcroft in the past and knows what they offer. So if you have a U.S. source for your part give Steve a call.
