Hi, Yesterday while in Moab city.
1: :( :(
The front window was broken from flying debris. The outer pane & the inner pane cracked just right of center in the blacked out lower part. The 5 crackes are about 10" & growing every day. Also some dents above the window.
:?: Is the cost to replace the windshield window cheaper in the states than canada :?: Insurance has been advised, waiting reply.
2: :(
The r/h front window lift mechanism broke. The window went down & off the track. The spot welds on the gear that connect to the scissors lift arm let go. I removed the mechanism & had it welded at a Ford dealer in Moab today. :D
Back on the road with a cracked front window in Green River Utah.

Disco windows.........
Hi Stuart,
Sounds like you are having fun shaking your Rover up! Look forward to seeing all the photos.
My guess, it would be cheaper in US to repair your window. Plus you don't want to drive all the way home with the thought of it giving out halfway home in the pouring rain!!
I didn't quite follow the "inner & outer" panes that you spoke of...what do you have in that fancy Disco, Double glazing!!
Any good tales to share? How is the Roverlander group getting on down there???
cheers,
Andy

We got home late last night.
Stuart, sorry to hear about your window. There is a really friendly dealer in American Fork, about 20 minutes south of Salt Lake City. They could likely help you with it.

Good luck with the trip home. We'll get caught up around here, then post a few pics.

Windshields are made with two panes of glass with a layer of plastic inbetween them.ANDYD wrote: I didn't quite follow the "inner & outer" panes that you spoke of...what do you have in that fancy Disco, Double glazing!!
