Hello All,

I have been thinking about getting a series rover.
Ideally I would like a 109 5 door.
It will be my daily driver, and I am okay with going slow.
I am selling my cruiser, and looking to downsize.
Either going to get another suzuki LJ or a rover this time.

Anyways, I was just wondering what people are getting for mpg or L?kms etc....

I also see people boosting the compression to 8:1 or 9:1 (depending on head) and report a mpg and hp increase. Just wondering how much does the hp and mpg go up?

Finally I am thinking about doing a propane conversion. Run dual systems like in england. Seems like it would pay for itself quickly. Any advise on that?

Anyways, I am sure I will have more questions.
But thanks for now.

Cheers,
N.

Also, just wondering what a 5 door 109 is worth.
I have been looking and prices seem to be all over the board.
Something that is a good (but not mint) daily driver and runner.
I would also consider a 109 3 door.

I don't mind doing some work.
I would even to a chassis swap for the right price.
Have access to a full shop and tools.

So yeah, just wondering what a decent 109 would cost?
The problem with an 88 would be space for 4 people + gear.
But for the right price I would consider it.

Cheers,
Nick

I've owed:

- 88 x 2
-109 x2
- 110
-90
-Range Rover

I'd say get a nice used diesel 110 for what you want unless you just have to have a series truck. Just my $0.02 ;)

Actually, ideally I would prefer a diesel 110.
The problem is cost.

I own a RHD Land cruiser right now (actually my second one)
I would import my own from England or Germany for LHD
But its more of a side step in price.

In a few years I will probably get one.
But my idea right now is to sell the cruiser, downsize cost wise.
Get something cheaper for the next few years.
Pay off my remaining debts, save up a down payment and try to get back into the housing market. Even if its just a condo at this point.

Once I am back into the housing market, then I will look at getting a 110.

Anyways, sorry to ramble.
Thats my thoughts.

Cheers,
Nick
