Chevy motor in a Disco 1

I'm still contemplating what to do...rebuild my 3.9, step up to a 4.6 or go to a totally different motor. I don't know of anyone who works on Rovers in the Okanagan so I'm leaning away from rebuilding the 3.9. These aussie guys sell kits to mate chev V8's to rover transmissions and you can get the motor mounts, wiring kits, etc:

Yes, but the Rover gearboxes and axles are not up to any more torque.
There is nothing special about a Rover V8. Anybody could rebuild one. It is just a 45 year old American engine design. There is lots of aftermarket for it and it is lighter than anything else for the amount of power that is possible other than something modern and expensive.

yeah...i keep changing my mind. If I end up rebuilding it'll probably be the ol' 3.9 realistically. However...if I'm dumping out $5k or so I may as well just sell her and get myself an imported Defender.
