Tickford Hunting

Anyone up for a hunting trip....
We found this tickford, so this will be one of my winter projects to get it back to Vancouver......

Does anyone recognize the license plate?
Looks like it may need a wash and some glass work. Is should be a very exciting adventure!!!

Very observant Andrew....
Talked to the owner Saturday and we are now swapping more photos. He has it on the road and is driving it....
I am sure the wood frame in the interior will need some expert craftsman such as yourself to help with the restoration....
Could be a the roadtrip of a lifetime.....
where is it.

And I thought it was only the chinese that made knock off's.
But land rover is all about originality and the life stories that come with them .
hay its probably the proto type for tickford.

This 1951 Rover is in Uruguay, the current owner bought it from the widow of the guy that owned it. It has been in storage for the last 8 years.
I agree that the windscreen doesn't look correct....doesn't even have wipers which may indicate they didn't have OEM parts when it needed a new windscreen.
The lack of "coachlines" definitely makes one wonder also. Thanks SWAG!
The dash also is a question make, it is typically Series 1 and I saw a picture of a Tickford that looked like it had a later dash.

I just couldn't resist...I bought it!!
The British Heritage Museum confirmed that it is a Tickford that was built September 27, 1950 and shipped to Brazil December 6, 1950. It is number 34 of the 1951 production.
Now the work begins......
Luckily I have made the contacts within the Museum where they have one and one of the guys is also restoring one himself.

I'm really happy for you Stuart. Now you should sell off a few of your other trucks to pay for the restoration. :roll:
I kinda feel like you have found the "Holy Grail" of land rovers...
I guess we are all like knights of the round table then. (or green oval table.) :lol:
