In my ordeal to get wolfe wheels on to my 65 109. i pulled in bigger studs, in place of the threaded ones that were stock. i have now found the larger studs are too short to meet the large nuts, flush , i have to get longer studs, [from Stuart}. but i think i should replace the hubs, my question is is there a hub part number any one knows about that will be drilled for the larger studs, i have a rover front axle and a salsbury rear. I would appreciate any help. I also want to know if the new studs will be counter bored at the back to accept the head of the stud being flush. Thanks for any sugggestions. also what vehicle would the proper hubs come from. thanks rick.mellenger.

Why replace the hubs? Are they worn out, cracked or broken? As you likely know, the bearing races can be knocked out and must be replaced at the same time as the bearings, but this is so you don't have to replace the entire assembly when a bear wears out. Unless it's broken, I would simply clean up the hubs with solvent, then wire wheel, replace bearings and races as required, and knock out the studs.

To fit the new studs flush, take the hubs to a machine shop and get them to countersink the 1/16th of an inch or so required to make the studs flush.

Thanks Dave. I have already done that with the new bigger studs, It is just that they are too short. i was worried about the added stress on the hubs of punching out the too short ones and pulling in the new longer ones, i did counter bore the holes to get rid of the part peened over by the screw in studs that were original. wont happen for a while as between travelling etc, i cant do it for a while. take care. rick.m
