The Rover-Landers of BC

Here's an interesting truck for sale on Ebay. Anyone have any idea what the red line/pipe is in the engine pic showing it taking off out of the top nut above the thermostat housing?

Possible the wire from the temperature sender. There is a whole lot of non stock stuff in that engine bay.

Almost looks like a tube or hose. Was wodering if it might not be a low water alarm?
