Has any one made up a reciever hitch fot the front of their truck? I have a 9500lb winch on a reciever style coupler and want to be able to use it on the front as well as the rear of my exmod110. the rear hitch is done and am looking for ideas on design... through the stock bumper or above the bumper.. the big question is weather or not to be through the bumper or having the extra approach angle by mounting it above the bumper.. the winch will be sticking out front and not on or in the bumper....

Hi Doughboy,
I installed a front hitch on my 91 RRC, it was great to be able to slide the winch on-off the Rover when needed.
I made the hitch brackets and bolted them onto the chassis just below the bumper. It worked well until I hauled a heavy 110 up a steep bank with the winch. The bracket started to bend because of the sharp downward force on the winch. I plan now to weld it into place instead of bolting, this will make it a much stronger set up. I have photos of the brackets being made up, let me know your email & I will send them to you.
Here is a photo of how the winch was positioned on the truck, is does impede the approach angle a little, but probably not much worse than a winch bumper would do.
