Ok,

Related to my other post about the 19J... Has anyone fitted a Disco 200TDI into a 90/110 without having to change the whole manifold/turbo set up to the Defender configeration?

Thanks

Looks like another option is to use the 300tdi turbo and manifolds.

How would that help? The 300TDI system is similar to the Disco 200TDI. You could use the 19J turbo, which is what a lot of people do to overcome the difficulties. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=15063

Note that if you change to the Defender manifolds, you need to change the timing cover as well as they interfere (as I understand it).

The exhaust is the big question. As I've read the conversions, it requires quite a complex downpipe. There is someone in the UK that makes them. The question is will it all clear the brake booster and the steering arm. http://steveparkers.co.uk/exhcon200tdi. ... 28507a1885

What are you going to put this in? Are not the engine mounts different as well?

When you do tackle it, let me know. I can come and lend a hand. It'll be interesting to see how it could fit.

Have a good look at this thread, http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=2394 Lots of good pictures and you might be able to figure out if there will be interference problems.

I've just bought a disco 200tdi that was fitted in a LHD 110 using a 300tdi turbo. They had to jigger the exhuast down pipe a bit to get around the RH engine mount but it looks like alot better conversion than the steve parker down pipe with the disco 200tdi turbo. I haven't figured out what they did with the front end of the engine yet though I think that is stock disco 200tdi stuff. I'll likely be looking for a good electric fan because the water pump on this one looks a little low for the defender set up but the price was right and the engine was already in Calgary so I couldn't pass it up.

I'd like to see some pictures of this.

Is it easy to get 300tdi turbo manifolds? cause the 200 tdi defender ones are uncomon..
