It can be done. Check out this guy's site for details:

This is in a series truck, but the process would be similar. He's actually a member of the Seattle club so he's a pretty local guy. (some would say loco for putting a 6.2 in his truck)
There was also a company in Britain that promoted a kit for the 6.2 in a Defender for years. Don't know if they still do, but might be worth a flip through a few old magazines.

Hi Dave, thank you for the info. I have the 6.2 in my gmc truck and love it. In a 110, who knows? I am considering it just simply to get affordable power. I will consider all the pros and cons. My next move would be to fit my 110's 2.5n/a into my 88"11a. By the way, I saw the start up of your diesel...very nice. Cheers, Dan.

In the land of pixes and flying pigs it can be done ;)
Infact it can be done in the real world to but it is not easy. You can use a GM 350V8 conversion kit to fit it to a rover gear box but the rover box, no matter which one, will not last for too long with the GM diesel pumping through it. To really do it right you need to use a stronger transmission. I helped a friend put a 6.5na into his 110 using an NV4500 hooked up to the LT230 about 6 years ago. I've been trying to get around to doing one for myself since then but I never seem to be able to get my shit to gether to get it done.

Yes, I have done it..Gosh! That is more than ten years ago now. I remember it being extremely time consuming to do it right. I have lots of advice like...Make your own adapter plate...and...make sure you have the drive shaft angle of inclination correct...and....forget using land rover front coils....and...etc etc....
My wife drives a 1 ton Duramax Sierra and i am putting two 300Tdi's in a couple of 110's Hmmm...Do you think there is a message in that.....
I saw the 138 drive by the other day, it is rather cool.
