I have a 1998 Disco with 300 Tdi/Automatic for sale. This is not a perfect truck, but runs and drives well. I used it for commuting last summer from Kelowna to Vancouver for work, so I put roughly 28,000 KM on it over a 4 month period. Total mileage is around 356,000 km.

This truck has had the following repairs:

- 300 Tdi installed by previous owner
- New muffler
- New wheel lug nuts
- New stock springs
- Transmission service
- Windshield washer reservoir replaced
- New Allisport crankcase breather
- Front door lock springs replaced
- Vacuum pump replaced (seems to be leaking oil)
- EGT/Pyro gauge installed by previous owner

There is some maintenance still needed:

- Rear sunroof leaks only in severe rain
- Oil leaks - I have an additional new vacuum pump, and new oil cooler hoses to be installed
- Dipstick tube - part is included
- Power steering lower seal is beginning to show first signs of leaking (reseal kit included)
- Transmission is eventually going to need to be replaced. It hasn't let me down, but one day it will. It doesn't like to go into reverse when hot, although there is a trick when absolutely necessary. It also occasionally has a mind of its own as to what gear it should be in, so I drive it in 3rd around town and Drive on the highway and it has pretty good manners.
- Needs seat adjuster switches.

A word about an automatic transmission with 300 Tdi... I've always preferred a 5 speed, but this is not actually a bad set up, as once you start accelerating there is very little turbo lag as the turbo remains under pressure between gears. Once you realize you have to tromp it a bit to get rolling it drives very well.

I was originally going to sell the engine on its own as its one of the strongest 300 Tdis I've ever driven, (and I've had quite a few) but you can buy this just for the engine, or with a little TLC have a nice running Discovery that gets decent mileage. As is typical with older Discoveries there is some rust but not bad compared to most. Also some gremlins with electric window switches on left side.

Looking for $6500 $5500 CAD.

Finally here is a link to a video of the truck getting up to 80 KPH. I had it regularly up to 120 on the Coquihalla, although I do keep an eye on the Pyrometer on hills.
