I’ve got a 97 D1 that started off life as a V8 auto, a previous owner swapped in a 300tdi and R380 5speed. Non sunroof!

However I also recently acquired a 98 D1 V8 auto, which has all the stuff that I’d planned to do to the diesel truck, air lockers, arb bumper, etc etc. it also drives really nicely and I’m familiar with the V8 vs the 300tdi.

So I’m thinking about parting ways with the 97 tdi. Runs alright, had a new rad, oil cooler lines, clutch master & slave, a few other bits and bobs. It’s rough around the edges though, with a leak on the clutch system somewhere leading to a lack of pressure, the usual rusty floor & wheel well areas, sticky door lock etc. it needs a bit of work to be too top. The real value is in the engine and trans combo.

Just thought I’d gauge interest and see if there’s any consensus on what I should offer it up for price wise.

I see a D1 with a 300tdi conversion listed on Facebook Marketplace located in Squamish. Seems like it has been for sale at quite some time, as the ad says it was listed 25 weeks ago. Selling for $13k, but the ad says it needs some TLC, so maybe that's a ballpark figure for yours?

I’ve got mine listed for $7000 in the for sale section. It’s a pretty fair price for what it is. A great starting place to tidy up the truck a bit, or if you have a project you want to swap it into, everything you need is there.
