The Rover-Landers of BC

Hey guys,
My series 2 has the single wiper motors and an open bulkhead. I’m tired of the replacement $40 Russian-made motors that are easily available off Amazon. They seize and die waaaay too easy. We’re talking less than 60 min of use.
I’m curious what are my other options? Was thinking about a marine wiper motor available from Steveston marine hardware (local). Not keen on the $300 per motor originals available on rovers north.
The thought also crossed my mind to wire in a new wiper motor, like on a series 3 or defender. Has anyone ever done this on an early model series 2?

Options:
1. rebuild yourself, not that difficult, some parts available through HNJ Engineering in UK....there are also great YouTube videos on repairing.
2. send to Martin Lawrie @ Fuggles Fettling for rebuild.....fugglesfettling.co.uk

3. Buy a reconditioned unit(s) from Neil Furness he is a series2.co.uk member.

Better than continuing to throw money into cheap units...... :cry:

At the end of the day the marine wiper approach may be more than refurbishing the existing units.

Option 4: bring them down to me in Victoria and I can rebuild your wipers for you or replace them if yours are not repairable.

Ended up replacing them both with marine grade wiper motors with a self park function. Wired through a two pole switch, they are both fed individually from the same source as the original motors. Runs well, but of course they’re slightly out of sync. I wonder if a voltage regulator would keep the speed consistent and sync them together? Also maybe a dimmer switch of some sort to adjust the speed. I talked to an auto electric specialist (Dundee electric in Langley) and he recommended that a dimmer would generate a fair bit of heat.
