Day 3 of the Land Rover National Rally

Today would have been another trail day however with my P38 on the bump stops I'm not going on any trails.
Starting a 6 we had a get together at the K J Wood Distillery in Ouray. Some free drinks and tacos. Lots of chatting with other participants. Dave Tebit and his son Peter are down here in the LR3. They were on the same trail that put me on bump stops. I have determined that the left rear air spring became detached from the bottom mount and folded over. Not sure how this could happen but there you go. I arrived early at the distillery and happened explain my problem to John Wood, the owner, and he suggested I have a new spring shipped to his business so I have done that. Supposed to arrive Tuesday. I may be able to install it at John's as well. Very nice of him to help me.
This afternoon is a vendor display and some food. Maybe if I get the P38 fixed I will do some easy trails since I am down here.

At least the air springs are easy to replace and not too hard to get.

Gordon, presumably you have a way to clear the suspension fault after you replace the spring (eg Nanocom etc). It will almost surely have registered a hard fault that needs to be reset.

I have order a new spring from RockAuto and it should arrive this coming Tuesday. I have a Hawkeye Total to clear the hard fault. Hope to be mobile by Wednesday. I would stick around and do some of the easy trails by myself but it is constantly cloudy and often raining so the views are obscured. May continue on to New Mexico.

Cool! Sounds like an amazing trip.
I’ve driven on the bump stops on the road, I can’t imagine how horrible that would be off road.
