Has anyone seen definitive explanations of paint schemes for the S111A 109 5dr Station Wagon. My understanding is the rear roof sides/roof sides/sun sheet was painted Limestone on all North American Imports. Can anyone site information other wise? Was the Limestone roof/sides colour scheme standard world over?

Were the sides of the roof ever painted body colour?

I used to have a 1968 NADA six cyclinder 5door and the roof sides and roof where all that light rover green like the rest of the body. It all looked original old faded rover paint to me. Only the tropical roof sheet was limestone.

Side note... I didn't think that they sold any NAS SerIII five doors here, I've only seen SerIII 88s from that time period. I'd be interested in having a look at one.

Yes...I have seen the sides in green too. However, when you looked at the inside surface of the sides you would find them to be Limestone colour. I know that new LRs were often repainted on arrival to hide shipping damage...I wonder if anyone can turn up a factory brochure with the colour choices?

I read somewhere that all NADA 's had the whole of the top painted Limestone and the rest of the world only the roof from the raingutter up were Limestone with the sides of the top being body colour.

Balderdash.

Possibly some of the issue is whether it was OFFICIALLY imported through LRNA (read US of A). After LRNA (US of A) officially stopped importing 109 SW's, in 1967 or '68, independent Canadian dealers kept on ordering them and at least some of them had sides in the body colour. Mine does, a friend down the road bought his brand new (1970) and it has sides and rear in the body colour too, Victor's 1962 Dormobile, bought originally in Britian, has the sides and rear painted in the body colour.
