So I'll be shopping for sheet metal. Is 16 ga a good place to start for floor/sill patches?

16 gauge is easier to weld as it can take the heat... also look up Fitzee's fabrication on YouTube for rust patch repair advice... he's good...

"16 gauge is easier to weld"
That was my thought. I haven't welded sheet metal before and, to be honest, it wasn't on my bucket list. But... I have a welder and here I am. I'll learn something I'm sure.

That turned out beautifully. The passenger side body mount in front of the rear tire has me most concerned. I hope I can do something half as nice as you've done.

This is a combo of custom welding along with Britpart repair parts. The side sills are britpart so they look clean. The tunnel mount parts had to be custom built as no kits for those unfortunately.
