1966 S2A 88 Rebuild

I’ve been here a while and finally decided to post my project. So here is my new to me 1966 S2a 88 Station Wagon with safari roof, LHD in marine blue bought locally in Victoria from fellow board member Frank.
The truck sat for a bit in my garage while I did a bit of research on how to do this; I’m not a mechanic, but I finally decided to jump in and get started. According to the licence plate, the truck was last on the road in 2008. I’ve started the teardown and it’s been a learning process. I photograph everything before and after it comes off, notes are taken for awkward stuff and small parts go into plastic bins.
Pics 1 & 2: The day I picked it up.
Pic 3: Current status of teardown. The bulkhead floorboards will buff right out.
Pic 4: Box looks fairly straight and there are the mud flaps.
Pic 5: Driver’s side view.
Pic 6: The engine.
Pic 7: Various parts. Other parts including the roof, heater, ect are either already in the garage or in bins.
Pic 8: Doors and seats. With the exception of the rear bench, the front seats were hazardous material 🤮
Pic 9: love the old school Karmann Ghia hazard light switch knob, but it will go.
More to follow.
